5 Reasons You Should Have An Air Purifier In Baby’s Nursery
Children under the age of 18 are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with chronic allergies and asthma while their immune systems are still developing. Allergens and pollutants in our air (including mould, dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander and VOCs) are ever increasing and evidence suggest that the air in our homes may be two to five times more saturated with these allergens that the air outside.
In view of this, we compiled 5 reasons why you should have an air purifier in your child’s room…
1. Help Your Baby Breathe Easier
Whether your baby or toddler is showing signs of allergies or asthma, or you simply want to be proactive, using a high-efficiency air purifier in their room is an essential preventative practice. Some parents worry that if their baby's rooms are too clean, the babies will not develop natural immunities required for general health. When it comes to airborne particles, the argument does not quite hold up. Inhaling dust, pollens, and mould spores are not only bad for adults with healthy systems, but especially for babies with developing systems.
2. Help Your Baby Sleep Better
While keeping the sniffles at bay and helping baby breathe easier, your child may also experience improved sleep as air purifiers, such as the Solenco range, are not only powerful and efficient, but super-quiet as well. In order for children to grow and develop properly they must get adequate and consolidated sleep. Children who sleep 10 to 12 hours per night awaken well-rested, ready to cope, attentive, cheerful, and best able to learn from their environment.
3. Baby’s Room May Be Toxic!
While a lot of thought went into planning and decorating your baby’s nursery, renovations can introduce many pollutants into the air. Materials such as paint, new carpeting, flooring, wall-covering, wood products, glues, varnishes, curtaining and soft furnishings are all culprits when it comes to omitting VOCs, which may have serious short and long term health consequences for your little one. An air purifier with a true HEPA filter and charcoal filter will filter and trap airborne particles and chemicals that can easily be inhaled by infants. The Solenco Air Purifiers have recently been upgraded to meet medical spec and are now fitted with H13 medical grade HEPA filters.
4. Your Home Smells Of Dirty Nappies
Sensitivity to smells is something a lot of people find bothersome and at times sickening. If your home seems to absorb odours from sports playing teenagers, a smoking roommate, dirty nappies, or your furry friends, an air purifier could be just what you need to eliminate unwanted smells and leave the air fresh and enjoyable to breathe. Oftentimes, unpleasant smells may waft through your home into baby’s room. However, an air purifier can help eliminate these odours before you ever smell them!
5. You Have Pets, But Baby Has Allergies
Many people who adore animals and live with pets experience allergies related directly to the pet dander, hair, and fur that are a consequence of living with these lovable creatures. An air purifier works effectively to filter this dander from your air to leave the environment cleaner and healthier not only for baby, but for everyone in the home. In some cases, small children are more sensitive to pet dander than adults, so for families with both small children and pets, an air purifier is an excellent investment.
