What makes our Air Purifiers the best?

The Solenco CF8608 and CF8500 Air Purifiers are designed to provide efficient and effective air purification in a variety of settings, and they offer several features that set them apart from other models of air purifiers.

What makes our Air Purifiers the best? Some of the standout features and benefits of the Solenco CF8608 and CF8500 Air Purifiers are:

  1. Multi-stage filtration
  2. Coverage Area and CADR rating
  3. Ease of Use
  4. Intelligent Air Quality Monitoring
  5. Low Energy Consumption
  6. Low Noise Level
  7. Quality Support and Easy Maintenance

Let’s take a closer look.

Multi-stage Filtration:

The Solenco CF8500 and CF8608 Air Purifiers both receive the Allergy Foundation of South Africa’s seal of approval for their ability to effectively capture pollutants, pet dander, allergens, and other particles, and clean the air in your room. They are equipped with a multi-stage filtration system designed to capture a wide range of airborne pollutants:

  • A prefilter stops large airborne particles such as pet dander and hair.
  • The medical grade H13 HEPA filter captures up to 99,975% of particles that are 0.1 microns in diameter, which cannot be seen by the naked eye.
  • The activated carbon filter neutralises odours.
  • The antiviral filter is effective at reducing SARS-CoV-2 and H1N1 infection.

Both units have a filter change indicator that alerts you when the filter needs to be replaced. The filter has a lifespan of 4320 hours.

Additionally, the air purifiers have a UV-C light & Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO), which can be switched on and off. The UV-C light is another layer of defence, as it disinfects indoor air by destroying viruses and bacteria particles as small as 0,001 microns.

Coverage Area and CADR rating:

It is important to select an air purifier that is size appropriate for your space. Bigger spaces will need larger air purifiers. If you buy an air purifier with smaller coverage, it won’t provide optimal performance. You should consider the square footage of your room as well as the manufacturer’s recommended air changes per hour (ACH).

The term air changes per hour or ACH refers to how many times the total volume of air in a room has been purified. The more air changes per hour, the more effective the air purifier is at cleaning the air in a room.

In the case of the CF8608, it works optimally in an area of 50m² where it then cleans the air four times in an hour. It can move up to 456m3 of air per hour. While the CF8500 works optimally for smaller room applications from 25m², working at the recommended 4 ACH. It can move up to 217.6m3 of air per hour.

Another measurement of an air purifier that you should be aware of is the CADR rating. CADR stands for the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), a measure of an air purifier's ability to remove pollutants from the air over a fixed amount of time. The Solenco CF8608 has a CADR rating of >282cfm which is higher than many other models in its price range, while the CF8500 has a CADR rating of 142.9cfm. The higher the CADR rating, the faster and more efficient the air purifier is at removing airborne particulates from the air. It is worth noting that air purifiers with HEPA filters often achieve the highest CADR ratings.

Ease of Use:

The Solenco CF8608 Air Purifier comes with WiFi connectivity, and you can be voice controlled through the Smart Life App (available for both Android and iOS systems). You can control the CF8608 via your phone from anywhere if your phone and the air purifier are connected to the internet. The device’s touch panel is also simple enough to navigate, with feather-touch controls that enable you to change the settings quickly and easily. You also have the option of using a remote control. It has four speed settings and three timer settings (2hr, 4hr and 8hr).

The Solenco CF8500 is also equipped with feather-touch controls for ease of use. It comes with a night mode option, four speed settings and three timer settings (2hr, 4hr and 8hr).

Intelligent Air Quality Monitoring:

Both the CF8500 and CF8608 have an intelligent air quality monitoring system that constantly monitors the air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed accordingly. This means that the air purifiers will only run at full speed when needed, which helps to conserve energy and prolong the life of the filters. This function can be turned on and off so if you prefer to run it on full speed you can.

Both units are equipped with a PM2.5 display sensor, which lets you know how pure or dirty the air is before it comes in contact with the filter. The term PM2.5 refers to fine particles, or particulate matter, in the air that are two- and one-half microns or less in width. These fine particles primarily come from car, truck and bus exhausts, tobacco smoke, cooking, power plants, the burning of fuels such as wood, heating oil or coal and natural sources such as forest and grass fires.

Exposure to these fine particles can cause short-term health effects such as eye, nose, throat and lung irritation, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and shortness of breath. In some individuals, it can trigger an asthma attack and heart disease.

Low Energy Consumption:

With loadshedding a harsh reality in every household around the country, it is good to know that both the Solenco CF8608 and CF8500 air purifiers are energy efficient and low on electricity consumption. The CF8608 requires 70W to run and with continuous running that works out to a low 10c per hour. While the CF8500 needs 65W to run and with continuous running it works out to 9c per hour.

Low Noise Level:

Along with low energy the units are also low in noise levels. The low noise levels make them ideal for use in bedrooms, offices, and other quiet spaces. The noise level is only around 27-30dB at the lowest setting, which is quieter than the sound of a whisper.

Quality Support and Easy Maintenance:

If you encounter any issues with your device, you aren’t left to figure it out for yourself. You can rely on local support for post warranty and in warranty issues. Both devices come with a standard 2 year Manufacturer’s Warranty from the date of purchase.

Fortunately, both the CF8500 and CF8608 are designed for easy maintenance, with a filter replacement indicator that alerts you when it's time to replace the filters. The filters are also easy to replace, with no tools required.
